FAQs
What is the Isle of Man Women’s Collective?
The IoM Women's Collective is a membership group for women leaders and entrepreneurs on the Isle of Man to support and empower one another. We host networking and panel events for our members, as well as webinars and other personal and professional development opportunities.
Who can join?
The group is open to any women leader or entrepreneur who’s based on the Isle of Man. You could be running your own business already - or have aspirations to do so. You could be a leader within your organisation already, or you could be climbing the ladder and wanting to progress further - either personally or professionally. If you’re still not sure if The IoM Women’s Collective is for you, but would like to know more, please get in touch.
What do I get as a member?
Members get priority access to our quarterly networking events, free access to monthly online webinars, and much more. Click here for the full list.
How much is membership?
Membership costs £20 per month. You’re not locked in to a contract and are free to leave at any time. Your membership fees help cover the cost of our networking events and we hope to build a ‘pot’ of funds over time to support women entrepreneurs on the island with new ideas and ventures.
Why is the group exclusive to women? Can’t men join?
The group is only open to women. This is purposeful and means we can create a safe space for discussion and support based on the shared experiences we have within the group and in wider society.
We know many issues impact men as well, and men certainly do deserve a place to be vulnerable with one another and share their experiences together. It’d be fantastic to see men set something up that encourages this.
If I don’t join, can I still attend your events?
Members will get priority ticket access and entry to our networking events included in their membership fee. Any remaining spaces will be offered to non-members at a cost.
Why are you charging for events?
Our networking and panel events, as well as our monthly webinars, are free for members. However, we have introduced a fee for these events for non-members. Our workshops will be sold at a discounted rate to members, and at full price to non-members.
Ticket fees are used to cover the event running costs (venue hire, food and drink etc) and also allow us to add funds to our ‘pot’ which then gets used towards putting on even bigger and better events and workshops in the future.
One of our longer term goals is also to build a pot of funds that we can use to support women entrepreneurs and leaders on the island by giving grants and/or sponsorships to women wanting to either start their own ventures, finance a personal/professional development project, or undertake training etc.
By charging a small fee that we feel is reflective of the value of each event, we can achieve all of these goals and help grow the Isle of Man Women’s Collective community across the island to empower and support more people.
