Put Yourself First: Speaker line-up announced for our next event
The Isle of Man Women’s Collective is thrilled to announce the names of three leading experts from the island’s health and wellbeing sector, set to speak at our next event in June.
Titled ‘Put Yourself First: Why Your Health and Wellbeing is Critical to Your Success’, our next in-person event will explore the importance of putting your health and wellbeing first, discussing burnout, nutrition and anxiety in the tranquil surroundings of St John’s Mill Conference Centre.
The evening will feature three presentations from three inspirational women working in the island’s health and wellbeing sector:
Dr Karen Wilson: Founding partner at Mannin Doctors
Dr Karen Wilson is a founding partner of Mannin Doctors - a private GP practice in Douglas.
Dr Wilson trained in St Andrews and Manchester. She did her GP training in Scotland and then worked in India with the Tibetan refugees. She came back to the Island in 1996 and has been here ever since. She has been involved in 2 and 4 wheeled motorsport and was a regular helicopter doctor for TT. Previous jobs have included working as a GP in Onchan, rheumatology, Hospice and the Family Planning Clinic. Encouraging patients to be involved in their own care is a particular focus.
At our next event, Dr Wilson will be talking about burnout and how to spot the signs.
Angela Clucas: Founder of Next Level Nutrition Ltd
Angela is a seasoned nutritionist and coach whose mission is to help women cultivate a balanced, sustainable approach to nutrition, enabling them to achieve their wellness goals while enjoying a fulfilling life.
With a solid foundation in Human Nutrition (BSc) and Sports Nutrition (MSc), she’s spent over seven years coaching women to break free from restrictive diets and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
Angela will be discussing nutrition and its impact on your health and wellbeing.
Gemma Sharp - Emotional Intelligence Coach and Founder of Hummingbird Life Academy
Gemma offers emotional intelligence coaching for parents, children and corporations. Her own experiences of parenting led her to found her own business and she now works with companies and families to help people understand their own thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Gemma will be speaking at our next event about anxiety and how to manage it.
